The steps you will take to get there...
STEP 1: In class, I have already introduced you to all of the websites you will be using for independent research. They are GALILEO resources you used for your research project earlier in the year.
STEP 2: During center time, you will independently visit the websites listed below to find 25 animal facts. You must divide the facts you find into one of three categories...what the animal looks like, what the animal eats, and where the animal lives. You will be graded using the rubric above. To be sure you stay on track, you are required to find a minimum of four facts each day! (Yes, I will be checking.)
**The password for all these sites is "feather" until May 20, 2015.

STEP 3: Each day, you write the animal facts you have found in note form NOT sentence form.
STEP 4: Each day, you will sort your animal facts into three categories (what the animal looks like, what the animal eats, and where the animal lives).
STEP 5: When you have found all 25 facts and sorted them into the correct category, use the rubric to check your work and ensure you've met all the assignment's criteria.
STEP 6: Next, you're ready to post the animal facts on our class blog.
STEP 6: Read two other students’ work on the blog. Select the two facts that are the most interesting to you. Submit a comment on each student's post explaining why you think those facts are interesting.** Your comments will be graded using the checklist included above. As always, you are expected to use kind words, show respect, and use appropriate language. Please check your grammar and usage when writing.
**Alternate assignment option: Rather than commenting on your classmates’ animals, you may formulate a comparison of your animal with your classmate's animal using a Venn Diagram. Please email me to let me know that you are considering this option. I will give you more details on how to complete this post.
