2nd Grade Google Drawing
Step 1: With your partner, choose who will be the computer expert and who will be the book expert.
Step 2: Discuss the definition of fiction and nonfiction with your partner.
Step 3: Look at the two books you were given. Select the fiction book and skim it with your partner.
Step 4: Discuss two features of the book that make it fiction.
Step 5: Click on the link for your group's Google Drawing
Step 6: Above the yellow circle on the left side of the Venn Diagram, type in the title of your fiction book.
Step 7: In the yellow circle on the left side of the Venn Diagram, type two features of the book that make it fiction.
Step 8: Now, select the nonfiction book and skim it with your partner.
Step 9: Discuss two features of the book that make it nonfiction.
Step 10: Go back to your group's Google Drawing.
Step 11: Above the blue circle on the right side of the Venn Diagram, type in the title of your nonfiction book.
Step 12: In the blue circle on the right side of the Venn Diagram, type two features of the book that make it nonfiction.
Step 13: Think about your fiction book and your nonfiction book--what do they have in common? How are they the same? Think of two features that are the same and type them in the middle of your Venn Diagram.
Step 13: Spell check your Venn Diagram
Step 14: If you have extra time, feel free to change the fonts and colors. (However, please be sure to leave the Venn Diagram circles blue and yellow.)
Step 15: Share your findings with the class!
