How to stay updated on your student's ar progress...
Renaissance Home Connect improves the school-to-home connection by allowing parents and students to log in to a website and view the student’s reading practice and progress towards goals. Access to online results promotes discussion between parents and students, which motivates students and can make reading and math practice even more effective. In addition, parents can specify up to six email addresses to receive automatic updates in English or Spanish on their student’s reading progress.
Please contact your child's teacher if your child has trouble remembering the log in information needed.

Want to make reading a priority in your house?
As a parent, your child needs to know that you believe reading is important. Here are a few ways you can do that…
- Make it a routine-set aside a special time every day.
- Read a child’s favorite book over and over again. This will provide positive reinforcement and your child will gain confidence as they are able to successfully recognize words.
- Read with emotion. Reading with emotion draws a child into the story in a way that is much more memorable and enjoyable. It also helps them to better understand how words can describe something sad, happy, or exciting.
- Stop and ask about the pictures and about what is happening in the story.
- Help your child see that reading is important. Set a good example for your child by reading books, newspapers and magazines.
- Take your child to the public library to check out books. The most popular children’s books are available at the local public library. This is an affordable way to give your child access to a wide range of books. Taking your child to the public library also turns reading into a special occasion.
